Fanmix

So, I decided to make a fanmix. NO REGRETS.

Track List:
  1.  Northern Wind - City and Colour
  2. Samson - Regina Spektor
  3. Second Chances - Paper Route
  4. Cities Alive (Acoustic) - The Darling Buds
  5. Ghost Town - First Aid Kit
  6. Love, Love, Love - Of Monsters and Men
  7. Blood Bank - Bon Iver
  8. History Book - Dry the River
  9. So Many Roads - Fink
  10. BONUS: Unfinished Business - White Lies [Mumford & Sons cover]
Listen here. If you guys really want, I can pull together a download link! There's not a strict theme to this, though there's a lot of love songs and biblical references. There's also a lot of mentions of travelling, and I think all the songs have a very similar feel to them. They're all very soft and I've been using this to get to sleep for the past couple of nights. It's worked pretty well! Anyway, enjoy!

EDIT: meant to say, Unfinished Business fits into the "No Quarter" arc, which is why I kept it separate  (I just made myself sad oops).

Picspams!

Oh wow hey new settings!

So it's been a really long time since I posted on here, but I checked on the blog the other night on a whim and saw that Robyn had made a post since I had last been on (which admittedly was around half a year ago?) anyway, it immediately gave me this massive dose of nostalgia and I wanted to make some graphics just to channel this burst of inspiration into something productive.

It's been a pretty long time since I made anything for BIGLY but I might try my hand at writing something, and I think you'll be seeing more photoshopped things in the near future. Mainly because, let's face it, I actually know what I'm doing with it now.

Anyway, thanks for looking!

style

wow, long time, no blog (whoaaah the whole posting thingy has changed and now it's neat and pretty!)

I'm bored with a side order of bored, so I'm playing around on polyvore making style collages and I thought I would try my hand at maybe doing a little somethin', somethin'...

I've put in their comfort shoes, and their, what I call, 'no-nonsense-hunting-shoes'. Okay, so it's not a snappy title, but whatever. I remember Shannon and I talking (forever agoooo) about how at the beginning of the girls' journey, they'd probably have really distinct styles from their old lives, but as they spent more time with the boys, you would begin to see little changes, inspired by their life on the road. Like for example, Emmy would wear her leather jacket more or Lauren would buy a pair of sturdy boots instead of the flats she used to wear to church. They would both begin to wear more layers and jumpers as they realise how often they would spend sleeping in the back of the impala on cold nights when they were nowhere near a motel. That sort of thing. And of course, Lauren's rosaries are included. I completely forgot we were going to have her be quite a religious character until I found Shannon's background notes and research! If I had the dedication to keep writing, I would love to have an arc that perhaps deals with Lauren's strong faith in contrast to Dean's lack thereof (which would probably be dealt with in 'Houses of the Holy'). I really love exploring these characters and exploring my headcanons and I haven't done that in a very long time.

NOSTALGIC RAMBLINGS AHEAD: I find it really scary that this whole idea was created in like 2009 and now it's 2012 and so much has changed. I feel like this whole BIGLY AU universe represents something pretty nostalgic to me, and I've found myself really drawn to it again (and supernatural in general, except ew season 6 what even are you). I feel like these girls came to represent a friendship I cherished, but unfortunately dismissed, and when I read over fics and episodes we've written, it's like I've gone back in time and it's 2009 again and everything is lovely. Hmm, I don't know. I guess I'm saying I miss them and I miss writing and I miss this non-existent world and there are lots of other things I miss that I won't go into. I'LL PROBABLY END UP MAKING FANMIXES AND STUFF BECAUSE IT'S STILL BLOODY RAINING IN THE UK.

anywhooooo~
talk soon xoxox

Quick Sketches

Made a few quick sketches of the girls based on my headcannon rather than the actresses. Quite enjoyed the results, so decided to share. Unfortunately, it's in my style to completely eyeliner everything to death so... take it as a darker version of the two?

I'm sure you guys can guess who is who :P

AUs

I have an AU where Dean knows Seth and he visits him during the events of Dead in the Water. he meets Emmy, kinda falls for her but doesn't want to intrude on Seth, especially since the two are engaged. But as he spends more time with Seth, he sees the relationships is slowly falling to bits and he finds out about Candy and gets very pissed off. Plus, despite herself Emmy slowly falls for Dean little by little as he comforts her over Seth's actions.

This is the theme song of this AU;

AU2

This is basically because I want Lam to happen haha. In all honesty, this one just consists of Sam not sleeping with Meredith in Heart because he finally gets it into his thick skull that Lauren has been pining for him since they were in college together. Despite this, she seems to think they slept together and generally gets all pissed off and threatens to leave and go home but Sam stops her and Lam occurs yay.

Personally I like the first AU better, it's actually detailed and I even tried to vid it one time. (Failed, miserably but that's beside the point)

ps, I'm currently writing part of Shadow. Should be halfway through soonish. Also, will be restarting Nightmare since what I have so far is beyond terrible.

Download BIGLY, you say?

Call this an experiment. Basically, I'm getting an ipod touch, which is capable of reading pdf files. So, naturally in preparation, I converted all my BIGLY files into pdfs so I can read them on the go. So, I want to see how easy it would be to download said files for others. This is also a little apology for a serious lack of posting on my part.

Faith: Download

I edited it quite a bit last night, changed a few lines/scenes, but if there's still stupid mistakes with spelling and the like, blame it entirely on my clumsy fingers.

In other news: Alexis has been confirmed to play Lauren Scott in Sleepaway Reunion Camp, and Zooey will be in a television show known as The New Girl this autumn on FOX.

Companion Piece - No Rest for the Wicked

Greatly inspired by Junie's fic over on her blog. This is a so called companion piece only for the fact that it slots in nicely with what she's written :)
I'm super sorry for my long absences.
Song - Blinding ~ Florence + the Machine
-----

It was there. In the exhalation of a breath. In the rustling of the sheets in the
dark. He should have been peaceful. He should have been savouring the moment.

Should be- always living up to an unspoken expectation.

-

He was dying. At least, he was on his way to Death’s door. Just a few more steps
and even fewer knocks and he would be gone.

we’re cutting it close, I know.

No second chance. No goodbye.

Hearts thumping in tandem. Beating out rhythms in the dark.

A stirring of warmth at his side. He slipped in and out of his misshapen dreams.
Dreams of blood and fear and teeth.

-

He wakes and she’s there. She’s always there. Always will be. Shame he won’t.

you’re not going to go to hell. i'm not going to let you.
He cracks his eyes and she’s staring. Green meets pitch black.
everything’s gonna be okay.

-

‘Everything’s gonna be okay,’ she says it, eyes staring, mouth twitching. He stiffens. He blinks.
She’s Emmy again and he’s still dying.

‘Yeah, we’ll find a way,’ he agrees, kissing her head.

He knows they won’t.

Revelations.

"And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy. These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks..." (Rev 11:3- 4 )

Just gonna leave that there for future reference.

I was looking through texts tonight and I found one from Shannon from around 13th June 2010 when we were discussing a 'bigger picture'. A bigger plot, with twists and turns and symbolism, and everything we thought BIGLY would need to keep people enthralled. And Shannon found the answer. And it was glorious and perfect and all we need to do is write our asses off to get to the point where people can be like, 'DIDN'T SEE THAT ONE COMING.'

Thought I would update.

Faith.

Because I feel guilty in having not posted in a long time. Have some 'Faith'...pun not intended.

Lauren watched placidly as Sam clicked away at his laptop. She had seen the small, almost painful winces that scrunched up his features, the widening of his eyes, the jerks of his head. She wanted to ask him what he had found, but something kept her mouth shut. She sat on the edge of the room’s double bed, facing the small table that held Sam’s laptop. The only beam of light, which lit up the entire room with a pleasant yellow glow, came from the single window behind Sam. Lauren turned towards the front door as she heard the sound of the key in the lock. Dean came into the room, hands in his pockets. Emmy followed shortly after, flinging her jacket onto the bed beside Lauren. Dean’s eyes darted between them, his emotionless face turned into a slight frown when he saw the expression on his brother’s face.
‘What’d you find out?’
Lauren’s mouth fell a little, the one question she had been dying to ask him but she was too scared…and Dean comes barging in and asks it straight out.
‘I’m sorry.’ Sam’s apology came as a shock to everyone, all eyes turned to the youngest Winchester.
‘Sorry about what?’ Dean questioned, his eyebrows slowly knitting together.
‘Marshall Hall died at 4:17.’ His brother answered, staring down at his palms. Dean’s mouth fell open in shock.
‘That’s the same time you were healed,’ Emmy stated quietly, sitting down beside Lauren.
‘Exactly. I put together a list of everyone Roy’s ever healed, six people in the past year, and I cross checked them with the local obits.’ Sam handed his brother a pile of research. ‘Every time someone was healed, someone else died. Each time, the victim died of the same symptom LeGrange was healing at the time.’
‘So someone’s healed of cancer, someone dies of cancer.’ Lauren concluded.
‘Wait, wait, wait.’ Dean shook his head in disbelief. ‘So Marshall Hall died to save me?’
‘The guy would’ve died anyway and someone else would have been healed.’ Sam answered, throwing his best reassuring smile at his brother, but his best wasn’t good enough.
‘You never should’ve brought me here.’ Dean sighed, pacing the room.
‘We were just trying to save your life!’ Emmy defended, throwing a knowing look to Sam. Lauren sat still, watching the scene unfold.
‘But now some guy is dead because of me.’
‘We didn’t know that.’ Emmy sighed, throwing her hands in the air in exasperation, ‘How were we supposed to know that this would happen? We’re not psychic!’
Sam shifted in his seat. Dean continued to pace, his head moving back and forth as he shook it slowly.
‘The thing I don’t understand is how is Roy doing it? How he’s trading a life for a life?’ Sam pondered, closing his laptop lid over and resting one hand on it.
‘Something else is doing it for him,’ corrected Dean. ‘There’s only one thing that can give and take a life like that.’
Emmy and Lauren exchanged a confused look, ‘What?’ They asked in unison.
‘We’re dealing with a reaper.’

Occult Explained

This is just a collection of Sam/Lauren oneshots based around their college years.  For Shannon and inspired by Junie. Enjoy!

Initial.
Lauren sat silently, nose deep in a book, falling deeper into a world of fiction with every word she read. She scanned page after page, revelling in the peaceful tranquillity that she only ever felt when turning the smooth pages of a worn out book. She had spent most of her college life in here and in that moment, with one hand clutching the heavy leather bound book and the other keeping her long hair out of her eyes, she felt she’d never ever leave.
Someone opened the door with a bang, allowing a powerful gust of air to rip through the pages in her book and Lauren’s eyes drifted up to scowl at whoever had just disturbed her peace. He was standing in front of the librarian’s desk, his lean back towards the bookshelves and Lauren, who had successfully hidden herself amongst them, leant in her seat to get a better look. The only few people to ever really come into the library were her and Harry, who was pacing upstairs in an attempt to place his thoughts into words for one of his latest physics assignments. New visitors intrigued her. She strained her ears, eyes narrowing as she watched him speak in hushed whispers to the old lady in her thickly rimmed glasses. She pointed towards where Lauren sat, and in a quick attempt to hide from eyeshot, she slipped out of her chair and landed heavily on the marble floor.
‘Nice…’ She mumbled to herself, hoping the stranger hadn’t seen her staring. A pair of worn sneakers came into view and she sat herself upright, dusting off the knees of her jeans when her eyes connected with a pair of hazel ones. Her breath caught.
‘You need some help?’ He asked, hint of amusement present. A long arm extended in mid air. Lauren continued to brush herself off, avoiding eye contact, and held out her hand gratefully. She was on her feet in seconds, only managing not to blurt out, ‘Holy crap, you’re strong’. ‘Um, the librarian –Mrs Wallace, was it?— told me that you’d be able to help me out. I’m looking for a particular book. She said you’d read every one in here.’
Lauren gushed, ‘Not every one. I do have a life.’ She fought back a snort, feeling the heat in her cheeks as she blushed what she could only guess was deep beetroot. Smooth. ‘What one are you looking for?’
‘Um…it’s kind of a weird one. It’s for a theology paper.’ His thumbs tangled themselves together as awkward eyes scanned the many bookshelves. ‘Occult explained?’
‘What?’ Lauren asked again, she hadn’t heard his whisper, even in the deathly silent library.
‘Occult explained. That’s what it’s called.’ He must have noticed her eyebrow arching in confusion, as he let out a warm laugh and nodded. ‘I know, I know. It’s about the…the connections between religion and the paranormal. That sort of stuff.’
‘It’s definitely one I haven’t personally read…’ She trailed off as he shrugged innocently.
‘Oh—’ He squatted to pick up one of the books that had slipped from her desk. ‘Gulliver’s travels.’
‘I…I like books.’ She mumbled, cursing herself for stating the obvious and sounding so bloody stupid while doing it. She was sure he saw her face twitch with the shame as he was grinning from ear to ear.
‘Alright, thanks anyway!’ Before she could reply he was striding away with legs the length of tree trunks. Lauren didn’t want him to leave…not yet. She gave herself a mental kick and forced herself into action.
‘I didn’t say I didn’t know where it was.’
‘So you can find it for me?’
‘When do you need it for?’
‘Um, anytime this week would be great. I have a paper to write on it for next week. Whenever suits you to find it.’ He spoke clearly and she found his voice somewhat soothing, if not a little deep. It was obvious to Lauren that he had a bright, intelligent mind, but there was something about this man she couldn’t quite put her finger on.
‘Alright then….I’m Lauren by the way.’ She finally extended a hand of greeting. He accepted it, his huge hand practically crushing her own. ‘I can look up your classes from the office and give it to you then?’
‘No!’ He replied sharply, catching her off guard. His smile had faltered. Her eyes widened. ‘I mean, I can give you my number and when you find it you could ring me? I can pick it up myself.’
‘…If you’re sure.’
‘Thanks very much, Lauren.’ He searched in his bag for paper and a pen, and finally scribbled his number down with a look of satisfaction on his face. ‘Call me when you get it.’ He fixed the bag on his back and walked away, unaware of those following blue eyes. Before he reached the door, he turned. ‘My name’s Sam. Sam Winchester.’
Mrs Wallace gave him a glare from behind her thickly rimmed glasses for speaking so loudly in a library, and looking a little nervous under her watch, Sam quickly made his exit. Lauren sighed. She had no idea where to find that book. Maybe Harry would know…

Belonging

Lauren sipped her orange juice as the music blared around her. Socially awkward would have been a perfect way to describe her if anyone had been sober enough to even notice her sitting in the dark corner. Her new friend, Jenny Foxton, had invited her to a party in order to get her mind off work, but her new friend didn’t seem to know her very well yet and hadn’t noticed that Lauren preferred being alone in her room surrounded by assignments over being alone with a bunch of strangers. She didn’t belong here at all. She liked being an outsider, a loner. That way she was happy. Her surroundings should have been pretty, neat pastel coloured walls with a border of white washed wood, curtains of what looked like the smoothest silk and a carpet of carefully designed swirls and curves. Yet everywhere Lauren looked, there was a group of young adults ruining the aesthetics of the place, tripping and falling into ornaments, fornicating with one another in darker corners, spilling drinks on that lovely carpet. She sighed and set her glass down on the broken table beside her. A bunch of seniors fell past her in an effort to reach the bathroom on time before they puked all over the wall and Lauren just about had time to avoid the football team’s Quarterback. Her head hung to avoid recognition from someone in her class, she stepped briskly into the next room to find Jenny. Lauren wanted to thank her before leaving. She wasn’t really grateful that she had been invited, but she wanted her first female friend on campus to actually remember her the next day.
‘Jenny? Hi. Having fun?’ Lauren laughed awkwardly as the blonde smiled up at her.
‘I’m awesome! You? Want a drink?’
Lauren shook her head adamantly. ‘Actually I’m sort of tired. I’m gonna head back. Thanks so much for inviting me. I had a blast.’ Jenny grinned and waved her goodbyes as Lauren made her exit, but not before someone managed to spill drink down her front. With an exasperated grunt, she left the small white house and broke into a run. She wasn’t sure why she was running, but the sooner she was in her own room, the better. Something stepped into her path and she went careering off path and into the rose bushes.
‘Holy crap!’ The voice said. ‘I’m sorry!’
Lauren felt like she had run into a brick wall, and the apologetic voice didn’t really ease the pain. ‘You should watch where you’re walking…’ Lauren mumbled, feeling a little dizzy.
‘You should watch where you’re running, Lauren.’ Her eyes snapped up in shock, but her surprise faded as she recognised the hulking figure of Sam Winchester.
‘Oh, hello.’ She smiled awkwardly, regarding her stinging palms. Roses and their damn thorns. ‘I’m sorry.’ For the second time, he helped her to her unsteady feet.
‘I never got to thank you for the book. Mrs Wallace gave it to me, said you had to leave quickly.’ He picked a scarlet rose petal from her jacket and threw it where it belonged.
‘That’s okay. Your paper went well, I suppose?’
‘Yeah…’ He sighed, rubbing his hands together in an effort to generate some heat. Lauren hadn’t noticed how cold it had gotten. It was also incredibly dark, but to her relief she could spot a few tiny pinpricks of light in the sky. The stars always made her feel a little….reassured. ‘Actually, I have something to tell you.’
Lauren panicked. It was about now in the movies that he would turn into a raging psychopath and chase her down the dark street. Of course, he hadn’t, and she felt a little guilty for thinking he could be capable of that. ‘What’s that?’
‘I’m not actually taking theology.’
‘You’re not?’
‘No, I just like the unexplained.’ He shrugged, ‘I figured if we’re going to be friends…well, friends tell each other things. And right now I don’t have very many friends around these parts.’
‘Well I was just at a party where I sat in the corner for…’ She checked her watch, ‘Three hours. With an orange juice. I didn’t leave that seat until the moment I ran out of there.’ Sam laughed. It was a nice sound, surprisingly high and uplifting. It made Lauren relax. They both sighed, and Lauren swore she saw the flicker of contentedness in Sam’s eyes. Finally, the silence was broken and Sam cleared his throat. ‘You shouldn’t be by yourself walking home…well, running home. Even Sanford is dangerous at night.’
‘I should be going then, I don’t want it to get any darker. See you around, Sam.’ She was about to leave when she had an idea. ‘Why don’t you come to the library tomorrow at lunch? I can show you a couple more books that might come in handy some day…you know, for your course.’
‘That would be brilliant, thank you.’ Sam smiled and Lauren breathed a sigh of relief, ‘I’ll be there.’

Christmas

‘So you’re saying McCandless basically dug his own grave?’
‘Yes! I mean, sure it was brave leaving everything behind, but I mean he went into the wilderness with no prior experience, Sam! He was asking for something to go wrong.’
Sam nodded, still grinning, and leafed through a thick book with no particular interest of what was ingrained on the pages. He had already read it enough times. ‘I kind of admire him. You know, to be able to just throw everything away like that, to just take everyone’s expectations and throw them out the window…’ He turned his head to stare out at the looming oak tree that watched them from outside. Despite the cold breezes and the lack of greenery, no one ever would have known it was Winter. California wasn’t famous for its snow. Lauren watched Sam. Sometimes he would get so deep into a conversation, he would retreat into his own thoughts and completely zone out. She figured he was tired. It was only recently he had told her he was aiming for law school. She could imagine him as a big shot Lawyer. Heaven knew he was smart enough. She finally coughed to focus Sam’s distracted attention.  ‘I know you said you weren’t a Christmas kind of guy…but I, uh—’ She stooped to tug something from her bag. A small parcel, wrapped delicately in snowman covered paper, came loose and she set it gently on the table in front of him. He grumbled, but nevertheless smiled appreciatively.
‘Lauren I didn’t get you anything…Now I feel bad.’
‘Just open it, already. You can pay me back later in life when you’re a fancy pants lawyer.’
Sam paused, ‘—What, get you out of jail free?’
‘Just open it!’
Sam gripped the paper and ripped, avoiding too much noise for fear of incurring the wrath of the librarian. An old tattered book fell from a slit in the paper, followed by a thin black band, which Sam promptly slipped on his wrist. Turning the book in his hands he smiled. Call of the Wild.
‘It filled him with a great unrest and strange desires. It caused him to feel a vague, sweet gladness, and he was aware of wild yearnings and stirrings for he knew not what.’ Lauren quoted, eyes shining bright with the enthusiasm that Sam loved to see.
‘Jack London.’ Sam read with a nod, fingers playing with the thin pages. ‘And a first edition. Thank you.’
‘It’s a little worn but I think it adds to its appeal. It’s one of my favourites. I thought you’d enjoy it too.’ Sam lifted his wrist to regard the slender black band. ‘Oh and that….that’s just something that was lying on the counter. I thought I’d throw that in there to make the gift look like more.’
He smiled, and stood from his chair to pull her into a tight bear hug. ‘Thank you. And Merry Christmas, Friend.’ Struggling to breathe, but nevertheless feeling finally like she belonged, Lauren chuckled warmly.
‘Merry Christmas, Friend’.

Xmas Wish List - A Very BIGLY Christmas

Well this is certainly not my best writing. But it's 5 am so hopefully I'll be forgiven for it. I was supposed to be writing a oneshot for a BIGLY Christmas, but I got distracted by real Christmas even though I started a draft of this around the 15th of December or so (None of which is actually in this version). Anyways, I can't remember which number this was on Robyn's list but please do enjoy... Somehow.

“Emmy!” Lauren shouted loudly, bursting in through the door of the motel room with a large shopping bag in each hand. Her friend looked up from the large spider plant she’d been decorating with colourful baubles and ribbons.

“You’re back!” Emmy said joyfully, a smile creeping onto her features. “I sent the boys off on a really long errand, so we should have enough time to actually organise Christmas without them wandering in.”

“What did you send them to do?” Lauren asked curiously, throwing her bags on the nearest bed with a huff.

“Told them I was going to send my family some gifts and I needed a certain kind of ribbon to send it off in,” she said with a shrug. Lauren rolled her eyes with a smile.

“You’ve got them whipped. If I asked for something like that they’d have told me where to go.” Lauren started unpacking her bags, pulling out pre-cooked turkey and ham slices, egg nog and microwavable vegetables. She pursed her lips in thought, “We have a microwave, right?” she asked, dropping her purchases on the bed and wandering over to the kitchen area of their unusually spacious motel room.

“Yeah,” Emmy replied absentmindedly, still decorating her spider plant, “Sam and Dean really splashed out on this one.”

“Well, hey it is Christmas,” Lauren said, gathering her pre-cooked Christmas dinner together and piling it in the kitchen. “I figure I’ll need to start soon if I want it to be ready by the time they get back,” she said.

“Sure will,” Emmy agreed, putting the finishing touches on her plant. “Okay...” She picked a checklist that had been neatly penned by Lauren a few days ago and crossed ‘Christmas tree’ off it. “Just dinner and present wrapping to finish up then we’re done.”

Emmy pulled her duffel bag out from underneath her bed and pulled it open, revealing a large number of plastic and paper bags hiding inside in the place of her clothes. She removed them one by one and laid them on the single table the motel room had to offer. “Hope they like the presents, it’s not like we had a huge amount to spend on them.”

“Or anywhere decent to buy them out of. I mean, garages and local knick-knack shops...” Lauren chimed in.

“Exactly,” Emmy agreed, “Well, here’s hoping.”

Sam and Dean Winchester approached the motel door to the sound of singing and the smell of burnt meat that had been masked by a large quantity of cinnamon scented room spray. They exchanged a look. Christmas hadn’t been expressly banned but it wasn’t like they were expecting to celebrate it. There had been too many bad Christmases in the past and there was no way they wanted to add to the list. Dean pulled his key out of his pocket and stuck it in the lock. He gave his brother one last look of trepidation before he opened the door. But he hadn’t expected what he saw inside.

Every available space on the walls was taken up by ragged looking tinsel and lights. The windows were covered in fake snow, the kind that came from a can, and there was a large spider plant in the middle of the room that had been assaulted with ribbons and baubles. Dean had expected Lauren and Emmy to stop singing when they entered, instead they sang louder, belting out a slightly out of tune version of Rudolph the red Nosed Reindeer. They’d found themselves red Santa hats and stood around the tree with mad grins on their faces as if they’d just created the greatest thing since sliced bread. Behind them Dean spotted the source of the smell, a microwaved Christmas dinner looking a little forlorn on the motel room’s table.

The brothers just gawped.

Emmy took it as a good sign. “You like it right? Merry Christmas!” She shouted with a grin on her face. Dean’s mouth opened and closed for a few seconds. Then Sam laughed. It wasn’t his usual laugh, he was completely thrown off by the absurdity of it all, but it was infectious, soon the four of them were laughing so hard they were gasping.

“You did all this?” Sam asked once he’d recovered.

“Yup,” Lauren replied, proud of the work she and Emmy had put into getting all this together and not giving the game away.

“Wow,” he breathed.

“You’ve haven’t seen anything yet. We should have dinner soon.” Emmy said to Lauren, who gave a nod of affirmative. “Then you can open presents.”

They sat down to the oddest Christmas dinner any of them had ever eaten. Lauren had managed to almost set the microwave on fire when she stuck the vegetables into it in their tin wrappings and she’d burnt some of the pre-cooked meat to a crisp when she’d tried to heat it up on the stove. It tasted as funny as it looked but everyone ate all of it anyway, just because it was Christmas dinner. Dean and Lauren even managed to pull a cracker together without there being an argument.

“That was... interesting,” Emmy said patting her stomach.

“At least it was edible, which is more than I can say for dessert,” Lauren said, glancing balefully at the closed fridge. Sam decided it was better not to ask.

“Presents anyone?”

Guessing what the boys wanted hadn’t been easy, but they managed somehow. Lauren had bought Sam a pair of socks and a flashlight that attached to a headband, which he politely thanked her for but secretly could never see himself using. Emmy had bought him a copy of All Kinds of Feelings which turned out to be a lift the flap book written to help children understand their feelings. Lauren had been more than uncomfortable with buying Dean something but her salvation came in the form of him having broken his lighter a fortnight ago and not having bothered to replace it. She gave him a new shiny silver lighter. He’d even thanked her... must have been the egg nog talking. Emmy had bought him some new cassette apes from a run down old store she’d stumbled across the other day and he loved them, even if their taste in music was a little different.

“Sorry we didn’t get you anything, after all this trouble,” Sam said, rubbing the back of his head with his hand and smiling apologetically. Emmy waved him into silence.

“It’s not like you knew we had this planned, we’re terribly sneaky.” She winked at Lauren.

“Well,” Dean said, stretching in his seat, “Here’s to us. How about we stick around and do this again.” He raised his glass of egg nog.

“Here here.”

Merry Christmas xx

MERRY BIGLY CHRISTMAS FOLKS!

Yes, it's that time of year again. Fill your stockings, chill by the fire (radiator, whatever warm thing is your preference) and watch ridiculous movies that people would judge you for if it was any other time of the year. I myself am chillin' with my new blanket watching Harry Potter, but hey, whatever floats your boat!
So, it's Christmas gift time. None of this is remotely christmassy but who cares, right? I have a Lauren/Sam drabble coming up but I need to make a few finishing touches, so alas! Here are the graphics I made:

I know, I know, it ain't BIGLY but Junie shares my love for Draco/Hermione and I HAD TO AFTER THAT FIC. (Bare with me and I might make a Logan/Marie at some point).

And finally:

I hope you all have a lovely Christmas.

It's gif (see what I did there?) time! Part I

I was bored (I know, I should be writing/revising for exams), and scanning through my graphics and stuff, and I recently discovered how to make my own gifs. So I found my folder of BIGLY manips that I've used in a couple of vids and voila! I'll post my other stuff (mostly graphics and manips. I've been low on the writing muse, but I do have a Lauren/Sam drabble thingy) nearer to christmas. I'm sure Shannon will probably do the same if her arms haven't fallen off during intense swimming practice.

Did I just create an AU for my own fic?

I was rereading FuturePresent and it made me think of what a Lam child would be like. I suppose this could be considered a continuation of Junie's AU that involves Rob.

I think I've officially gone mad. I should be writing chapters, not creating AUs haha!

December 12th.

Sorry for the serious lack of updates but both Shannon and I are about to encounter another group of badass exams that's sole purpose is to try and destroy our brains.
Just a little update mostly to tell you we're still alive. I added a few new songs to the playlist in the hopes of inspiration, including: Remain by Trone Wells (a seriously beautiful song, check it out!), Are you with me? by Trapt and 'Orchard of Mines' by Globus.

At the moment I'm making graphics for Christmas so expect lots of new stuff, and a BIGLY surprise on Christmas day! Happy 12th December!

Can You Handle the Truth Part II (The Redemption)

Haha wat ^

Anyways, I can't edit posts Robyn's made since she's the ultimate creator of the blog and I'm like a crappy underling who can only post and edit her own posts and can't actually format D: Sad times.

Anywhooo...

What's in your bag? The one you use every day.

Well, I usually carry two bags; my school bag and my swim bag. In my school bag there’s my books for my subjects: two PE textbooks, a homework diary, a pencil case, a “history of sport” booklet and some past papers for chemistry. My swim bag has about 6 swim hats, 2 pairs of goggles, one or two swim suits, contact lenses and a bottle of water in it.

Favourite pizza toppings?

Hmm... Tossup between plain old cheese and ham and pepperoni. I like to mix it up a little sometimes though, so any pizza will suit me fine :D

Coffee or tea?

Depends on my mood, but I’m 9 times out of 10 a coffee drinker. I need the caffeine for the morning haha, I’m also quite a big frappe drinker.

If you could only pick one of each, which book, movie and album would you take with you on a dessert island?

Book would be really hard since I don’t usually read books more than once. Probably something really long like the complete Lord of the Rings. Movie... hmmm... Probably Armageddon, the ending gets me every time and Bruce Willis is awesome in that movie. As for album, I’m not sure, maybe Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin, it’s their best album IMO. Or Chronicle by Credence Clearwater Revival (Although it’s a greatest hits album, it’s damn awesome!)

Favourite thing about living in Ireland?

I like being able to say “I’m Irish” ha-ha! I love the accent that the people have from down south and I love the way most people are genuinely really friendly J

Any grand plans after school?

My super big grand plans would be to go to California next summer and play water polo in Sacramento like my coach wants me to. If I do well there I’d probably move to Manchester and go to uni there so I can play on the Great British water polo team. Who knows where it would go from there. My more realistic plan is to go to Trinity College and do dentistry, medicine or physiotherapy.

What other fandoms do you fallow?

I enjoy a bit of everything really, if a book, movie or game catches my interest enough I’ll have a wee look at the fandom and see if I like it. If I do, then I stay involved, vidding, fan fiction etc. At the minute I’m interested in; Gears of War, Firefly, Assassin’s Creed, Kingdom Hearts and Darren Shan

Favourite episode of Supernatural?

I like the old seasons better than the new ones generally; Wendigo, Bloody Mary, Devil’s Trap, In My Time of Dying, Malleus Malificarum and Jus in Bello.

Favourite part about writing fan fiction?

It’s escapism :D A chance to get away from the boring daily grind. It’s great to write about something you enjoy, like a homage to the creators while still being able to be creative about it J

Hooray, I'm really boring!

~Shannon

Can you handle the truth?

Right gonna answer some questions posed by Junie, Shannon can add her own answers when she gets online if she wants.

What's in your bag? The one you use every day.
Robyn: Well, normally my school bag has my books for Chemistry, Biology, English Lit (normally a mix of books and plays, this year 'the tempest', 'streetcar named desire' and 'the glass menagerie') and then my History notes. Then, I have my homework Diary which I'm meant to write homeworks into so I don't forget. But I don't. And then I forget. My teachers really love that. In a weekend bag (ones I carry around into town) normally have my polka dot make up bag, my phone, my iPod/walkman, and random bus tickets from months before.

Favorite pizza toppings?
Robyn: Aw man, I love everything. I recently discovered my like of pepperoni, but I'm a total Hawaiian girl. In other words, ham, cheese and pineapple. But I actually don't like eating the pineapple, I like picking it off and enjoying the sort of fruitiness left behind once its removed. So basically I like ham and cheese. And obviously tomato.

Coffee or tea?

Robyn: Extremely milky, sugary tea. Although my friends (avid tea drinker fanatics) despise my taking of sugar as apparently it makes it 'not teaish'. I can't help it though. I have a sweettooth.

If you could only pick one of each, which book, movie and album would you take with you on a dessert island?
Robyn: Oooh good question. Alright, book? Ummm...I DON'T KNOW. Maybe, 'The Various Haunts Of Men'  by Susan Hill OR 'perks of being a wallflower' by Steven Chbosky. Movie would have to be 'Drop Dead Fred', it's basically my childhood in the form of an old 90s movie. Album....toughie. I'd say (I know this is kind of cheating, 'cause it's more of a compilation album) 'The Best Of The Scorpians'. I don't even know. My Dad bought it ages ago for christmas one year for me, and he was like "You like all this sappy rock music, right?" And thus my love for Klaus Meine was born.

Favorite thing about living in Ireland?
Robyn: I don't know! I think the beautiful countryside. No matter where you go it's always beautiful (especially in the summer sun). And every little town is different and every city has so much history. I mean Ireland has been through some shit over the past few decades/centuries, and we're still being tough cookies through it all.

Any grand plans after school?
Robyn: I'm going to run away and join the Russian circus. I can put my leg over my head, y'know? I think that warrants a spot on the tour. Umm, at the moment I'm totally torn between career paths. Every wednesday after school I help out with a class of 8 year olds in a local school and that's really amazing. So I'd love to do  a degree in psychology and then go on to do primary school ( for kids aged 5-11) teaching. OR, I've always loved science and animals, so I was thinking about doing Veterinary Science, but I don't know. Thus, I have work experience set out in February where I spend a week in a school helping a teacher, and another week in a veterinary surgery so I can make a choice about which to pursue.

What other fandoms do you follow?
Robyn: Oooh, I'm not as passionate about other fandoms as I am with supernatural, however I do watch some shows religiously. I adore Criminal Minds for its unique storylines and take on the criminal psyche. I watch Merlin on bbciplayer and I'm a huge Gwen/Arthur shipper. Umm, True Blood, The Walking Dead, Firefly (God bless its cancelled soul) annnd occaisionally I'll watch an episode or two of Chuck with my brother.

Favorite episode of Supernatural?
Robyn: I absolutely adore Faith and Devil's Trap, and many many more (i.e most of every season). I don't think I can choose, it'd be like choosing one child over the other.

Favorite part about writing fanfiction?
Robyn: Definately trying to get into the head of whatever character it is you're writing, and finding the balanace between your thoughts and their's. I really love it when something works out and I read over a few months later and I'm proud of it (I very rarely am, but still). It's the sort of satisfaction when you read something and think "I wrote that!".

This was fun. I had fun. Did you have fun? I hope you had fun. Anywho! I'm just back from being a convict/cowboy in the school play and I am exhausted. So enjoy your weekend and don't party too hardy!

Interrogation time.

Dear Junie (who has now made me fall in love with Finland) wrote her brilliant version of, 'The Real Ghostbusters' a while back, which included the hilarious question and answer scene, and I thought it'd be cool if we could ask her random questions (much like a mini-interview) and then she could answer them, and then we'd switch roles and she could ask us questions. So if you have any questions ask away! It can be about anything you like: school, music, ireland, fanfiction or anything that you've really wanted to know about the world of BIGLY.

And I just remembered Poets Of The Fall were from Finland. So, have some POTF to listen to:

näkemiin!
