Family Ties Part II
Alrighty then, so yesterday we took a look at my own personal view on the Murray family, and today (after again having to hunt down different actors to portray a couple of members) I finished the Roser family picspam.
First family member to approach the stand is Cliff Roser, father. Cliff Roser earned his position in his business through hard work and good intentions. He only ever wanted the best for his family. He's a pushover where his wife is concerned, and the calmer of the two parents.
Portrayed by: (In my head) Liam Neeson, (In the picture above) Mel Gibson.
"You need to figure out what you want in life. Not what your mother wants."
Emily Roser, the mother. As Emmy's self professed arch-nemesis in life, her mother never made a good impression with her youngest daughter. Emily is a climber of certain social ladders, clinging onto Cliff's wealth and social circle in the hopes she can overcome her lower class background.
Portrayed by: (In my head) Kelly Bishop, (In the picture above) Marcia Cross.
"You never do what I tell you to do. Why can't you be like Claire?"
Claire Roser, the older sister. Claire married young, and after the birth of her son, made the decision to follow in her mother's footsteps and become a housewife.
Portrayed by: Emily Deschanel
"Once you settle down, you'll understand."
Seth Ivle, the scumsucking rodent whore-...I mean the fiance. Seth Ivle was the perfect, rich, attractive man that women dream about. He's also one of those stereotypes that flirts with everything that has a pulse. Bad choice in a husband? Perhaps on this occasion.
Portrayed by: Greg Vaughan
"I'm sorry to remind you again, but I'm what you've got to count on."
Maggie James, old best friend. Rebeling against what their parents expected from them.
Portrayed by: Krysten Ritter
"Screw them. If we want to make stupid decisions that we'll regret when we're old and wrinkly, then that's our choice."
So there we are. The Murray and Roser families, not including a few characters that we'll meet waaaay later on, are complete. Hopefully this has made the characters seem a little more normal knowing they're just like you or I: problems, friends, hopes, dreams, careers.

Family Ties.
There will be two parts to this post, but the second part hasn't been completed yet (it took me like 4 hours to do this one), but alas it is finished!
So there I was, pondering of the Murray and Roser families, and I had an idea to sort of further delve into the lives of the girls before their journey of "self-discovery" (and whatnot). Is it nature or nurture that makes people the way they are? Are they born bookworms, or are they taught to read with a vivacious passion by someone close?
{So I was gonna do a picspam using all the original actors/actresses that we chose to play varying members of the girls' families, but do you know how difficult it is to find screencaps and the like for some people? Quite difficult, as a lot of them don't have official sites, or dedicated sites with organised screencaps, candids, posters etc. So the actors/actresses strongly differ the originals, but I think it kind of works!}
So first, I did my take on the Murray family:
First family member is Paul Murray, the father. In my own head, I imagine Paul as the patriarch, the main Dude who brings home the bacon (or whatever phrase you'd prefer for a man who puts food on the table for his loverly family). We decided he would be a college lecturer, hence giving Lauren her strive to succeed in education. Personally, I'd also see Mr. Murray as some form of maths/science nerd, his daughter's idol as she grew up.
Portrayed by: Tate Donovon
"Hold onto that brain of your's, Kiddo. It'll get you through the best and the worst."
Second is Kathy Murray, the mother. Kathy is unemployed, a homemaker if you will. She surrounded her two children in religion as they grew up, wanting them to always know that there was someone watching their every step. She made sure her daughter always gave 100% effort to everything she did.
Portrayed by: Kate Walsh
"Just don't go running off. Keeping track of your brother is hard enough."
Zach Murray, banterful brother. He was originally portrayed by Jason Behr, but I actually like this version better. Ian Somerhalder's usual characters are normally the complete opposite of what Lauren's would be (ah, if only she existed), so I think it's quite a cool little contrast. The rebel, the badass etc. At least that's what he's like in my head. As you probably know, in the episode skin, the original chick (Becky, we took her out of the loop and thus had a basis for Lauren's appearance) had a brother named Zach, this again was altered for Lauren's presence. Zach's girlfriend gets killed by the shapeshifter...cue a crisis!
Portrayed by: Ian Somerhalder.
"Being a goody-two shoes will get you nowhere, Sis. Live a little."
Jenny Foxton, the old best friend. Just one more person that Lauren left behind.
Portrayed by: Sara Paxton
"If you ever go flying off the rails without me..."
So yes! Took forever to find new actors for Kathy and Zach but voila!
My ideas of the family are probably completely different to shannon's, but hey that's what co-writing is all about!

Fourth of July 2/2
We're so close to posting on ff.net, I'm excited!
--------------
“We’re lucky we’re in Mississippi.” It was a typical Lauren quip that came whipping through the darkness from behind Dean’s head. It was one of those statements that came with a creepily remembered fact attached, which generally made Dean wonder if Lauren had ever had a life outside of books. He trudged on through the dark forest, the only light was the silvery glow of the moon and the weak beam of his flashlight, which he kept trained to the forest floor. With a grumbled sigh he waited for the bizarre fact to come.
“Only thirty three of the fifty states allow consumer fireworks.”
“Ain’t that something.” Dean said sarcastically, although Lauren was used to his menial levels of enthusiasm when it came to her, and wasn’t induced into a fight.
“So tell me again where we’re going.” Emmy said from somewhere to his left.
“We’ll know when we get there,” Dean replied, cradling a large bundle of fireworks in his arms.
The hike through the forest wasn’t long, but in the dark it was full of stumbling and tripping punctuated by the occasional curse. The four trudged wearily in a line only stopping if someone had dropped something or had fallen over. Despite this they made good time as they strode deeper into the heart of the forest. After an indeterminable amount of time had passed, Dean halted and Emmy could just see him craning his neck to look towards the glow of the moon. With barely any clouds in the sky she could make out thousands of tiny pin prick stars looking down upon her.
Having made his inspection of the area and deeming it appropriate, Dean laid down his large load of fireworks on the grass and sat down beside them, keeping his eyes fixed on the sky. The others followed suit, dropping their own bundles of fireworks, settling down on the grass and taking in the sight of the night sky. Folds upon folds of the deepest blue splotched with black and smattered with starlight. Dean had insisted on an area relatively far from civilisation, but in the distance explosions from other fireworks were barely audible over a chorus of cicada song. The night air was warm and still about them and Dean almost loathed to break the silence that had settled over the group, each encompassed in their own thoughts.
“Are we going to light these babies up or what?” He asked gruffly, picking up a few select fireworks and ramming them into the ground. There were murmurs of consent from the others as they heaved themselves off the grass and into a safe distance away from the fireworks. Dean pulled a shiny silver lighter out of his battered leather jacket and lit a few of the fuses. He jogged over to the rest of the group and waited.
With a loud whining noise the fireworks took off from the ground and whizzed out of sight into the blackness of the night sky. Suddenly they exploded in a shower of red and green sparks, which cascaded out of nothing in a large bang. More and more followed them and soon the sky was full of blinding lights, a plethora of colours painted across the sky, each bright enough to burn an image into the group’s retinas. Their ears were assaulted with a cacophony of sounds, whizzes and bangs filled the air.
Dean couldn’t help but grin at the sight. It was magnificent. Beside him Emmy laughed and grinned with delight, even clapping at some of the more spectacular explosions. He was so transfixed at the sight of the sky he almost didn’t notice when she slipped her tiny, soft hand into his and squeezed it tightly.
Much to everyone’s dismay eventually the stack of fireworks they had brought with them dwindled, then disappeared completely
“You’ve got good choice in fireworks,” Emmy said quietly to Dean after it had been established there were none left to fire into the sky. “Aaand,” She continued purposely, putting a bit of the famous Roser condescension into her words, “I knew we could have a good fourth of July. We should celebrate more holidays.”
Dean smiled and shook his head at her antics.
“My vote is we skip Halloween, but Thanksgiving! Oh that’s a different kettle of fish entirely!”

Fouth of July 1/2
The idea came when I was vidding the song Airplanes. In my part of the vid it looks like they're all watching fireworks and Dean's thinking about the time he and Sam set off the fireworks when they were younger.
Song: Airplanes - B.O.B. ft Haley Williams
----------
“It’s the fourth of July y’know,” Emmy said with a bright smile directed at the slightly sulky Dean located in the seat next to her. His grip on the wheel of the Impala tightened slightly and he pursed his lips a little. If Emmy hadn’t known better she’d think he was angry at her. It was probably the fact Sam and Lauren had been nattering about Anna Karenina in the back seat for about an hour that had made him so irritable.
“So what?” Was his eventual reply, and although it was snapped at her, Emmy saw no reason to not persevere with her point.
“It’s the fourth of July.” She stated again, keeping her eyes trained on his profile. Sam and Lauren’s chatter had ceased in the back leaving a slightly strained silence hanging in the air.
“So what?” Dean asked once again the sarcasm literally dripping off the monosyllables.
“It’s the fourth of July.” She pressed, stressing the last words, hoping Dean would catch on to her vague intention.
“So-“
“Ah patriotism, separating us from the animals.” Lauren cut in with a thinly veiled barb towards Dean that she doubted he would catch on to. Sam, in the seat beside her, gave her one of his looks before turning his attention to Emmy who was preparing for another verbal assault on Dean.
“Emmy, we’re not really big into celebrating indepen-“ He began a doomed attempt to defend Dean’s briskness.
“Are you British?” She asked in an incredulous voice. Sam shook his head in disbelief at such a ridiculous question.
“Of course not.” He replied. She waved her hand dismissively in his direction.
“It was a rhetorical question.” She swiveled in her seat, tugging at her seatbelt so she had enough slack to face Lauren in the seat behind her. “Lauren, you celebrate it big in your family right?”
“Oh yeah,” Lauren replied with a smile, “St. Louis style.”
“Slammin’” Emmy deadpanned.
“Pimpin’”
“Bitchin’”
Sam looked between the two as their bizarre exchange unfolded. He swore they got more peculiar every day they spent together, although the way Lauren jumped from discussing Tolstoy to exchanging ridiculous colloquialisms made him smile.
“We haven’t got a job, we could go to a fireworks show,” Lauren suggested.
“No.” Dean stated, his tone suggesting he wanted that to be the end of the conversation entirely. Lauren scowled in his direction. Dean always disregarded everything she said if he could. She made a mental note to discretely spill something in the Impala in the near future.
“Exactly why can’t we go to a fireworks display?” She asked quietly. Dean rolled his eyes skywards then settled them back on the road before eliciting a response.
“I’m in charge and I don’t wanna.”
“In charge...” She mimicked the words under her breath and wondered when this decision had been made. She certainly didn’t remember voting for him. Fascist.
“Last time we celebrated the fourth of July was...” Sam spoke suddenly, a far off look in his eyes, as if he was remembering something from a very long time ago.
“Yeah, I remember.” Dean replied shortly, although some of the earlier bite had faded from his words.
“Why not something like that again? Just us.” Sam suggested, the faintest of smiles tugging at the corners of his mouth.
“Huh,” Dean said faintly as if testing the idea in his head before making a proper response. “I guess we could do that.” Emmy smiled brightly, having eventually won her case. She wasn’t exactly sure what the boys had in mind but she had a feeling it was going to be spectacular.

NEWS UPDATE:
The scene I have been dreading since we started this project.
That scene where the whole revelation of what Sam&Dean do as a job comes full circle.
Okay, Robyn. Let's do this.
Other news:
- We're thinking we might be able to start posting official chapters on fanfic.net and on here some point in september, once I finish dead in the water, we have a stack of episodes already written just waiting to be posted.
- I'm waiting like an eager child for Zooey's new tv show, and Alexis' horror movie (which hasn't yet been confirmed, and might just be a rumour. But supposedly she's playing a character in 'sleepaway camp reunion' called, get this, Lauren.) We are psychic.
- This song is keeping me going:

SORREH.
But! I felt uber guilty because I'd lost all inspiration for anything, but writing (Yes! Dead in the water is finally underway once more), and thus had not done any supernatural vids, or picspams or like anything. SO, I sat down in front of my laptop and thought to myself, "Robyn you will not get up and watch dawn of the dead if you haven't made a manipby 10pm tonight. Funny what you get when your brain is forced to work.
So here, have an Alexis&Jared manip.
